Epcot Theme Park Tickets
Epcot stands for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. It envisions the future community with an innovation of advanced technology and international culture.
It is the vision of Walt Disney for a model community.
Epcot has two sections within the site which are World Showcase and Future World.
Features of Epcot:
Future World has circular- unique-logo featured pavilions such as Spaceship Earth, Innoventions, Universe of Energy, Mission: SPACE, Test Track, The Seas with Nemo and Friends, The Land, and Imagination!.
Innoventions features the mixture of advanced technology and its actual implementations in real life. In the beginning years, it only provided Sega Genesis, Sega Game Gear, Sega CD, and Sega Pico games in an arcade style, located in two different sections which are Innoventions East and Innoventions West.
The Spaceship Earth serves as the iconic and symbolic structure of Epcot where it is the main attraction and an important structure of Epcot. The 13-minutes ride displays human communication advanced technology.
The journey starts in time machine using the omnimover system with the time span between prehistoric ages to the 21st century.
The Universe of Energy includes only one attraction entitled Ellen’s Energy Adventure, starring Ellen DeGeneres and Bill Nye the Science Guy.
The Innoventions East displays Don’t Waste It, Environmentality Corner, Test the Limits Lab, StormStruck, The Sum Of All Thrills, and Take a Nanooze Break. The Innoventions West displays where’s the Fire? Play It Safe, Smarter Planet, Segway Central, SlapStick Studios, Club Cool (formerly Ice Station Cool), and The Great Piggy Bank Adventure.
The World Showcase presents eleven countries which are Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Italy, The American Adventure, Japan, Morocco, France, United Kingdom, and Canada.
Each pavilion provides restaurants and stores served by the citizens from these great countries.
Other attractions in World Showcase follow as:
- Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure – an interactive attraction of an electronic scavenger hunt using special “Kimmunicators” (stripped-down cell phones).
The adventure is inspired by animated series of Kim Possible, in Disney Channel.
- World Showcase Lagoon – an artificial lake with perimeter of 1.2 miles in right center of this World Showcase.
It is also accommodated with FriendShip to transport guests coming from the Future World right to the opposite end where the World Showcase is.
- Epcot Character Spot where children are able to meet their favorite Disney’s characters.
- IllumiNations: this “Reflections of Earth features” musical themed of lasers, Fireworks, water and fire fountains, telling story of Earth in three sections Chaos, Order, and Meaning. A large revolving globe with arched LED screens is there as a centerpiece of show images display of places as well as people with a beautiful background of tribal African sound.
Interesting Facts and History:
Epcot Center opened on October 1, 1982 and in 2009, has succeeded to grab approximately 11 million guests, made it the third most visited theme park in the United States, and sixth most visited in the world.
This utopian community and future city planned by Walt Disney faced financial and permission impediment from Florida property during its construction. However, the work was then continued upon an agreement to build Magic Kingdom first. Disney passed away prior to the opening of Magic Kingdom.
There are special events alternately performed in Epcot. In 2011 Epcot specially exhibits some events such as The Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival,
The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, Candlelight Processional, and Sounds Like Summer.
The Epcot International Garden and Flower Festival which will be held from March 2, 2011 to May 15, 2011, is an exhibition of colorful flowers, lush gardens, and Disney characters.
The Epcot International Wine and Food Festival opens from September 30, 2011 to November 13, 2011, will display a paradise of food and wine delicacy.
Candlelight Processional performs an orchestral concert from November 25, 2011 to December 30, 2011, at the American Gardens Theatre for celebrating Holidays festive seasons.
Sounds Like Summer scheduled on June 12 – July 30, 2011 performs annual live concert series.
